Job Overview

Position: AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE SUPERVISOR

REPORTS TO: SERVICE MANAGER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate daily tasks for technicians, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Establish work schedules and manage break times for staff.
  • Facilitate training sessions, including GM and KPA programs.
  • Oversee the wet/dry service process.
  • Engage in recruitment efforts, attending relevant job fairs and events quarterly.
  • Conduct interviews and manage the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Perform evaluations at 90 days and conduct annual performance reviews in collaboration with the Fixed Operations Director.
  • Hold daily meetings with the Business Operations Coordinator to discuss appointment scheduling.
  • Collaborate with the Shop Production Manager to identify additional support for the main shop.
  • Monitor the progress of apprentices, ensuring they meet training requirements and compliance standards.
  • Manage recall procedures, ensuring all necessary training is completed and staging areas are prepared.
  • Implement quality control measures for vehicles exiting the express lube service, checking for cleanliness and proper installation of components.
  • Conduct daily team meetings to outline the day's objectives.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings to review processes, training completion, and address any operational concerns.
  • Ensure wet tech sheets are completed and submitted to the Parts Manager for tracking.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Fixed Operations Director.
  • Ensure oil changes are completed within a 1.5-hour timeframe.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong ability to interpret and follow written instructions.
  • Proficient in dealership software, including Reynolds & Reynolds, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a service environment.
  • A minimum of five years of combined experience in Parts, Service, and Body Shop operations.
  • Valid in-state driver's license.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Exceptional communication skills.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The Automotive Service Supervisor will operate within the Service Department, encountering various environmental factors such as noise, vibrations, and exposure to automotive fluids. The role requires mobility throughout the service area to collaborate with technicians and may involve crawling under vehicles for inspections.
