About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team at International Paper. As a key member of our production team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as an ink production employee, performing various tasks as needed to meet business requirements.
  • Contribute to plant and offsite blend plant safety and operational improvement efforts.
  • Assist in coordinating preventative maintenance processes and provide support for maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and paperwork related to maintenance activities.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, manufacturing, customer service, and sales support teams.
  • Effectively communicate with production supervisors and lead maintenance mechanics through active participation in production meetings, project planning meetings, maintenance priority meetings, and safety meetings.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors as needed to support maintenance activities.
  • Participate in capital planning processes and provide input on new equipment purchases and major modifications of existing equipment.
  • Support waste and process improvement initiatives, utilizing structured problem-solving and employee engagement to drive positive results.
  • Direct other team members as needed for project planning and completion at the plant and offsite plants.
  • Be willing to work overtime and flexible hours, including alternative shifts as needed.
Requirements
  • Goal-oriented self-starter with strong communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Firm understanding of driving safety culture and adhering to corporate safety policy.
  • Sincere interest and desire to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating shop-related machines and tools required.
  • Working on medium to heavy manufacturing machinery preferred.
  • Occasional travel required for projects at off-site locations and/or training.
