Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of all food items, ensuring that our high standards of quality and consistency are maintained at all times. Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the preparation of all food items, ensuring that they are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering, and stock control.
  • Develop and implement menus, specials, and promotions to drive sales and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Train and develop kitchen staff, providing guidance and feedback to ensure that they are equipped to deliver exceptional service.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu ideas and improve existing dishes.
  • Monitor and control food costs, ensuring that they are within budget and that waste is minimized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or General Manager.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Proven track record of success in kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering, and stock control.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, with the ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a commitment to exceeding customer expectations.

The base pay range for this position is $70,000-$80,000 per year. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.

This position is located in Washington, DC.
