Position Overview
The Elementary Education Support Specialist collaborates closely with designated classroom educators to foster the objectives of the learning environment while nurturing individual students in their social, emotional, and academic development.

Training and Development
PKS provides a comprehensive two-year training and professional growth program for educational assistants, aimed at equipping them for future roles as classroom educators.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time, non-exempt role requiring 40 hours of work from Monday to Friday, reporting directly to the Head of Elementary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with students using a positive, supportive, and respectful demeanor.
  • Ensure constant visual and auditory supervision of students to maintain safety in various settings.
  • Encourage the development of friendships among students through interactive play and activities.
  • Assist students in cultivating critical and creative thinking abilities through exploration and experimentation.
  • Collaborate with the educational team to design daily activities that promote inquiry, problem-solving, and creativity.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students.
  • Assist with morning and dismissal routines.
  • Participate in reflective practices and coaching sessions.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A genuine passion for working with children and facilitating their growth.
  • A willingness to learn, collaborate, and develop both as part of a team and individually.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in education or a related field, or currently pursuing one is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 months of teaching experience is advantageous.
  • Enthusiasm and charisma that inspire students, parents, and colleagues alike.
  • Proficiency in both Mandarin and English.
  • Familiarity with Progressive Education is preferred.
  • A strong understanding of child development and a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
  • A dedication to reflective practice and continuous learning.
  • Creativity, excellent multitasking abilities, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Compensation
PKS offers a competitive salary range for this full-time position, with compensation based on experience and educational qualifications. Comprehensive benefits are also provided.
