Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Elementary School Special Education Teacher for a long-term substitute role. This position is designed to provide essential support from August through December, with the possibility of extended employment based on the needs of the school. The role is integral to our commitment to supporting students with disabilities, as approximately 20% of our students are on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver inclusive support and instruction within general education classrooms that include students with IEPs, and when necessary, provide specialized instruction in separate settings.
- Assist in managing the school's special education programming, which includes completing required documentation, facilitating professional development for teachers, and maintaining effective communication with parents and students.
- Maintain high academic and behavioral standards for all students, offering the necessary support to help them achieve these expectations.
- Engage actively in professional development and coaching opportunities provided by Match.
- Contribute to school activities during non-instructional periods as needed.
- Foster a collaborative and positive environment within the Match community.
Qualifications

- Possess a minimum of two years of full-time experience as a classroom or special education teacher, ideally in an urban educational context.
- Hold a valid Special Education license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education or are able to obtain one within a year of hire.

- Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and a track record of student achievement.
- Exhibit strong teamwork skills and a willingness to support colleagues in their professional endeavors.
