Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our interdisciplinary team at the Bipolar Disorder Center at The University of Texas at Austin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to adult patients with bipolar disorder, working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to assess and treat patients with bipolar disorder, utilizing evidence-based practices and treatment modalities.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management, psychotherapy, and coordination of care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
  • Participate in clinical trials and research projects, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and best practices in bipolar disorder treatment.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
Requirements
  • Master's or Doctorate's degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • At least one year of experience in inpatient and outpatient care of bipolar disorder and related disorders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and other relevant software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three or more years of experience in a psychiatric practice or other related facility.
  • Experience with large research projects and clinical trials.
  • Working knowledge of and/or experience with Value-Based Healthcare Delivery models.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
