Job Summary:

The Program Manager is a pivotal role within the Arizona-Mexico Commission, responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing a spectrum of program activities that elevate the organization's impact.

This full-time position requires a seasoned professional who can proficiently manage the intricacies of our signature binational committees and oversee engagement activities with members and sponsors to drive international meaningful results.

The ideal candidate demonstrates experience in program development, a knack for creativity, and a passion for community and member engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities:Program Management:

• Manage bi-national committees; coordinate with Sonoran counterparts to ensure quality action plans/projects and track successes

• Facilitate programmatic excellence of our signature AMC events; support program agendas and member/sponsor engagement

• Design innovative activities/events that elevate the mission of the AMC and advance membership opportunities

• Prepare and present reports on program performance and event outcomes

Event Management:

• Collaborate with internal teams, planning committees and external partners to ensure top quality programming and seamless event execution

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver signature AMC programs; including bi-national inter-plenary and plenary sessions

• Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, and budget tracking

Member Engagement:

• Work with AMC team members to ensure membership and sponsorship dues are processed and accuracy is maintained

• Develop and implement strategies to increase member participation and engagement

• Gather feedback from members to continuously improve program offerings

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in program development, event planning and/or project management

• Great interpersonal skills and enjoys engaging with the public, government officials and stakeholders

• Highly organized with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines

• A forward-looking thinker who actively is connecting the dots, proposing new ideas and solutions

• Shows enthusiasm to tackle tough problems; collaborative in their approach to problem solving

• Strong commitment to the mission and priorities of the Arizona-Mexico Commission

• Bilingual in English and Spanish

Qualifications:

• While normal office hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, flexibility is required to work outside of normal business hours on occasion, including some weekends

• Experience in leading outcomes for an organization; ability to use project management tools and frameworks to track progress

• Remains curious and is willing to experiment, ask questions and seek help (and sometimes fail) in small ways

• Physical requirements include: lifting (20 lbs), carrying, bending, sitting, and standing for long periods of time

• Proficient use of office equipment and software including, but not limited to Google Suite, Chamber Nation

• A willingness to regularly give and receive feedback; approaches work with a growth mindset

• Ability to travel, including to Mexico, at times for periods of 3-5 days, multiple times per year

• Strong organizational skills and ability to adjust priorities in pressure situations
