QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED is required

Preferred completion of college coursework

1-2 years of experience working with volunteers

Strong organizational, communication, and detail-oriented skills

Professional demeanor and appearance

Ability to manage a high volume of incoming calls

Proficient in MS Office applications

Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently

Outgoing personality with the ability to initiate conversations with the public on behalf of The Salvation Army, representing the organization professionally

Must be at least 21 years old with a valid Arizona Driver's License and a clean driving record

Must successfully pass a criminal background check

Completion of vehicle safety e-training is required to obtain approval for vehicle operation.

Must adhere to the TSA dress code

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Document and report all activities and production metrics on a regular (monthly) basis to the Phoenix Metro Administrative Assistant

Assist in the design and creation of promotional materials such as posters, flyers, and brochures using graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Suite, Canva)

Support special events and seasonal campaigns as assigned

Manage in-kind and monetary donations and ensure accurate reporting

Coordinate logistics for event supplies in collaboration with the Warehouse Coordinator (e.g., Christmas Angel Tree, Holiday Dinners, Heat Relief, Back to School events, etc.)

Respond to incoming calls/emails and assist in scheduling volunteers as needed


Facilitate volunteer and event activity logistics (e.g., directing volunteers to their assignments) for major events such as Thanksgiving and Christmas Day Dinners.

Run errands for inter-agency projects and events

Assist in managing mailings to volunteers confirming their assignments

Help send out volunteer appreciation letters in January

Participate in departmental training for divisional software (e.g., Volunteer Management System, Christmas Angel, Register to Ring)

Collaborate with the Metro Phoenix Team, Divisional Media Specialist, and Development Team

Perform other duties as assigned related to the role of Community Engagement Coordinator.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, and access and produce information from a computer, as well as comprehend written information.
