Job Title: Leave Specialist

At The Salvation Army, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Leave Specialist to join our Human Resources team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with various health-related laws, including the Family Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and Workers Compensation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer leave policies and procedures, ensuring timely and accurate processing of leave requests.
  • Provide expert guidance on leave administration, including explaining leave options and requirements to employees.
  • Collaborate with the Benefits Specialist to ensure accurate benefit payments for all leaves.
  • Process disability insurance claims and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
  • Manage accommodation requests and ensure timely communication with employees and management.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate leave information to Payroll and management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience in personnel or finance.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of leave administration experience, preferably with Ceridian Dayforce or UKG experience.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills, with a patient and empathetic approach to supporting employees with health issues.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and excellent communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a detail-oriented and process-minded approach to work.
