Position Overview:

The role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Energy Transfer pipeline systems. This position involves overseeing and optimizing the performance of compressors, pumps, and other pipeline equipment in collaboration with field personnel to facilitate the delivery of gas and liquid commodities, including refined products, NGLs, and crude oil. The individual will also be responsible for accurate data reporting to the Partnership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Continuously monitor and maintain pipeline pressures within established design parameters while assessing gas and liquid quality at various checkpoints.
  • Collaborate with different departments to implement scheduled changes effectively.
  • Act as the primary contact during emergency situations, ensuring timely notification of emergency services and management.
  • Work alongside the pipeline operations team to maximize throughput, coordinating efforts during equipment or pipeline outages.
  • Manage liquids control by initiating pump and delivery schedule adjustments, monitoring tank inventories, meter counts, line pressures, and temperatures. Utilize computer-controlled field equipment to direct and oversee product delivery and changes at remote locations, ensuring safe operating conditions and cost-effective operations.
  • Assist field personnel with troubleshooting communications, SCADA systems, control valves, and other operational equipment.
  • Prepare daily throughput reports and maintain emergency notification and operational call-out lists.
  • Analyze operational challenges and provide actionable recommendations for resolution.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
Experience Levels:
  • Level C: 0-2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent.
  • Level B: 2-4 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent.
  • Level A: 4+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screenings in accordance with PHMSA regulations.
  • Proficiency in personal computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project, as well as knowledge of flow and pressure simulation tools.
  • Strong multitasking, analytical, and judgment skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as required.
  • This position involves 12-hour shifts, including day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capability to operate from an alternate Control Center location during emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in remote control, pipeline operations, or related fields pertinent to Control Center functions.
  • Basic understanding of measurement principles and gas/liquid hydraulics.
Working Conditions:
  • Typical office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods due to prolonged sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be necessary.
  • Visits to industrial settings may be required, which could involve exposure to hazardous materials and extreme conditions, necessitating appropriate personal protective equipment.
