Role Overview: We are seeking a qualified Welding Engineer to oversee and enhance our Welding Program across the BWP pipeline system. This role involves collaboration with engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure the integrity and compliance of welding operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and implement the Company’s welder qualification program and maintain the welder database.
  • Evaluate and approve third-party contractors, including fabrication shops and testing facilities.
  • Provide training and guidance to both Company and third-party welders and inspectors.
  • Act as an Operator Qualification (OQ) Evaluator for welding and NDE tasks.
  • Review and update Company procedures in accordance with new regulations and industry standards.
  • Support various departments during audits conducted by State and DOT PHMSA.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of pipeline regulations and standards such as API 5L, ASME B31.8/B31.4, API 1104, and 49 CFR Part 192/195.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Willingness to travel and work in diverse environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Welding Engineering.
  • Experience in pipeline construction practices and related inspection methods.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, or Metallurgy from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience in the pipeline industry.
