Nation's Best Holdings LLC is a leading retail company that values customer service and continuous improvement. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Hardware Store Manager to join our team at our Fort Wayne, Indiana location.

Job Summary

The Assistant Hardware Store Manager will assist the store manager in the operation of the store, including opening, closing, and shift changes. This role will also be responsible for supervising register counts, change orders, and bank deposits. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management and excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the store manager with the operation of the store, including opening, closing, and shift changes
  • Supervise register counts, change orders, and bank deposits
  • Support the store manager with bookkeeping responsibilities
  • Oversee inventory management and merchandising
  • Execute sales plans with guidance from the store manager
  • Assist with exterior and interior store maintenance
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained and inspected, if applicable
  • Assist with training of new hires or ongoing training of existing staff
  • Monitor staff daily performance and provide redirection, as needed
  • Communicate frequently and consistently with staff members
  • Implement best practices, system conversions, and vendor program support
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, pricing, and delivery
  • Prepare bids and material estimates from customer or contractor blueprints
  • Initiate telephone calls to customers to generate sales
  • Coordinate purchase and delivery of special products
  • Input customer orders and pricing information into the computer system
  • Investigate credits and returns
  • Participate in manager meetings, financial reviews, and training events
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years retail experience, at least 1 year in a direct sales role, prior supervisory experience a plus
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties
  • Minimally must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance
  • Knowledge of store inventory control and merchandising preferred
  • Results-oriented with the ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation's Best's values
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to consistently provide superior customer service skills
Work Schedule

This is a full-time, hourly position. Ideal candidates must be flexible to work within the hours listed below. Full-time hours will range between 40-50 hours per week depending on business needs.

Candidates will be required to work some weekends and share the responsibility of opening and closing the store with the Store Manager.

Monday - Friday: 7:30am to 7:30pm

Saturday & Sunday: 8:30am to 5:30pm
