Job Overview

The Salvation Army Central Territory is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to provide ongoing support to managers and employees during the employee lifecycle. This role involves answering general HR questions, maintaining files and data, and coordinating participant grievances.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to inquiries from employees, providing guidance and support (20% of time)
  • Assist with recruitment by posting job openings, managing applications, and gathering new hire paperwork (20% of time)
  • Maintain accurate employee records and submit documents to HQ for processing (20% of time)
  • Conduct new employee orientations and complete FMLA requests (10% of time)
  • Collaborate on training development and delivery, and maintain up-to-date compliance postings (5% of time each)
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of relevant experience (highly preferred)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with integrity
  • Proficiency with database systems, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment

Salary

$23.81 per hour, 20 hours per week
