POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The primary responsibility is to ensure that all maintenance tasks are executed in accordance with Company guidelines and DOT regulations, in a prompt and effective manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Efficiently manage equipment repairs with accuracy, productivity, and safety.

• In the absence of supervisory personnel, demonstrate self-direction and fulfill VMF Garage team responsibilities as needed.

• Uphold acceptable standards of garage cleanliness.

• Ensure that work orders are completed accurately.

• Support the VMF Garage team in various assignments and propose solutions to challenges.

• Conduct basic functions and help ensure compliance with company and governmental regulations by all department staff and safety protocols.

• Perform all job functions with integrity and honesty.

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, treating team members with courtesy, dignity, and respect.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Skills and Experience:
  • Preferable experience with Volvo VN series tractors.
  • Preferable experience with Thermo-King and Carrier refrigeration units.
  • Familiarity with Volvo Tech-Tool diagnostic software is advantageous.
  • Preferable knowledge of XRS.
  • Certification in airbrakes is required.
  • A/C Certification is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in TINA software is essential.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Less than 10%

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Mental alertness is crucial for the safe and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in confined spaces and awkward positions for extended periods.
  • Occasional operation of trucks/tractors and 53-foot semi-trailers, as well as heavy garage repair equipment and ladders.

• The role requires the use of calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment throughout the workday.
