Position Overview:

M&H Valve is currently looking for an Assembly & Test Operator.

Job Summary:

The role involves executing repetitive assembly tasks for valves and hydrants, as well as conducting tests on finished products.

Compensation: $23.77

Screening Process:

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize personal and team safety.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Employ proper lifting and ergonomic techniques.
  • Interpret work orders or receive verbal instructions to ascertain work assignments and material needs.
  • Adhere to detailed job-specific instructions to ensure efficient assembly and testing that meets customer specifications.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections.
  • Inspect components during assembly.
  • Fasten parts together securely.
  • Operate machinery for fitting or fastening tasks on the assembly line.
  • Utilize hand and air tools throughout the shift.
  • Adapt to various workstations as production demands.
  • Collaborate with the team to minimize bottlenecks and achieve collective goals.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Report production errors or equipment issues to supervisors.
  • Clear equipment after operations and review schedules for upcoming tasks.
  • Document issues such as downtime, root causes, and corrective actions.
  • Meet or exceed hourly production targets consistently.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the production area.
  • Actively promote the principles of The McWane Way.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Language Proficiency:

Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Capability to write basic correspondence and effectively present information in small group settings.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and apply these skills in practical scenarios involving American money and measurements.

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in various formats and to solve problems involving concrete variables.

The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
