Overview

M&H Valve is looking for a Finishing Coater Technician in Anniston, Alabama.

Summary

This role involves the application of coatings (powder coating or spray painting) to castings consistently. The technician will operate hoist equipment for parts exceeding 30 pounds.

Pay: $20.48

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize personal safety and the safety of team members.
  • Assist supervisors in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including fall protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection.
  • Employ proper lifting and ergonomic techniques.
  • Interpret work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and equipment needs.
  • Follow detailed job-specific instructions to ensure castings are produced efficiently and meet customer specifications.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment.
  • Perform color changes as required by customer specifications.
  • Apply specific coatings to parts.
  • Inspect raw castings for defects prior to powder application.
  • Manage waste hoppers and return powder to storage daily.
  • Notify supervisors of errors or equipment stoppages.
  • Clear equipment at the end of operating runs and review schedules for next assignments.
  • Document issues such as downtime and actions taken.
  • Meet or exceed hourly production targets consistently.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the production area.
  • Promote The McWane Way Principles proactively.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma/GED preferred.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
