Job Overview

The Manufacturing Assembly Specialist is responsible for diagnosing and resolving issues across various vehicle systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, powertrain, and suspension. This role encompasses a wide range of assembly responsibilities within the production facility, which may involve assembly, testing, preparation for shipment, and inspection. The specialist also serves as a valuable resource for fellow team members, contributing to a collaborative work environment. Proficiency in mechanical skills related to automotive and heavy equipment is essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Interpret engineering documentation, including assembly, hydraulic, and electrical schematics, technical manuals, and operational instructions.

2. Conduct troubleshooting on vehicle systems, addressing electrical, mechanical, functional, hydraulic, fuel, powertrain, and suspension issues.

3. Execute functional testing of vehicles in accordance with final inspection standards.

4. Perform assembly tasks across all production stations as required.

5. Handle materials and perform moving tasks using both manual and powered equipment as necessary.

6. Conduct tests and compile test reports to document findings.

7. Evaluate the current condition of vehicles, identifying parts that require replacement, noting any missing components, and assessing the overall condition, while documenting all relevant information.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Completion of vocational training in vehicle mechanical and electrical component/system assembly and troubleshooting is preferred.

2. A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in vehicle conversion or maintenance is advantageous.

3. Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, and electrical schematics is required.

4. Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments for quality inspection.

5. Demonstrated skill in all production assembly stations and final processing functions is necessary.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for fostering effective working relationships with team members and other departments.

Compensation and Benefits

This position is governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will dictate wage structures. BAE Systems offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports employees' health and financial well-being.
