POSITION SUMMARY:
The role involves assisting educators in facilitating classroom activities for young learners. Responsibilities encompass providing instructional support and assistance to teachers, students, and educational staff.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
*Ability to engage positively with students and adults.
*Exhibit strong verbal and written communication abilities.
*Basic proficiency in English and Mathematics.
*Capability to follow both written and verbal directives.
*Fundamental understanding of technology and its application in educational settings.
*Competence in performing clerical duties.
*Strong organizational and planning skills.
*Familiarity with office and audiovisual equipment operation.
*Collaborative mindset and adaptability with colleagues.
*Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
*Awareness of educational policies, administrative procedures, and relevant regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Attend a minimum of 10 hours of professional development training annually, along with an additional 10 hours from local or regional programs, totaling 20 hours per year.
*Manage inventory and procure clerical supplies and instructional materials as needed.
*Prepare educational resources requested by classroom educators; design and assemble materials as necessary.
*Supervise students during morning routines.
*Provide individualized support to students requiring assistance; facilitate group activities and small group instruction.
*Oversee student assignments and assist with make-up work.
*Accompany students during lunch and monitor behavior in communal areas, ensuring appropriate noise levels.
*Report any disciplinary issues to the teacher or designated staff.
*Adhere to all relevant guidelines and protocols.
*Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or Lead Educator, aligned with the objectives of the position.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
*Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent coursework in child development (minimum of 9 hours).
*High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
*Proven experience working with children.
*Preferred: Two years of college education.
*If assigned to a Title I institution, compliance with the No Child Left Behind Act is mandatory.
*Other qualifications as deemed necessary by the Board.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical stamina, mobility, dexterity, and acuity are essential for fulfilling job responsibilities. The role may require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds as necessary.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION:
Employee performance will be assessed according to established evaluation procedures and Board policies.
