Position Title: Culinary Operations Supervisor

Overview: Manages the overall service and preparation elements of the culinary operations. Responsible for upholding exceptional standards in service, food preparation, resident interactions, cost management, staff oversight, safety, sanitation, training, and special events. This role includes supervisory responsibilities over all kitchen staff and assistants. This position reports to the Executive Chef.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Ensures a positive and enjoyable dining experience while adhering to established procedures for food presentation and service.
  • Oversees and is accountable for the daily management of the food preparation system, recipe database, inventory control, ordering, and storage areas.
  • Stays updated with trends in culinary preparation, including innovative recipes, presentation, and merchandising techniques.
  • Supervises kitchen personnel and ensures proper sanitation practices throughout the kitchen.
  • Conducts daily production meetings with the culinary team.
  • Assists both management and culinary staff in menu development.
  • Implements initiatives aimed at providing high-quality food and service to residents, guests, and staff, thereby enhancing the appeal of the community to current and prospective residents.
  • Supervises staff and oversees culinary operations for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.
  • Monitors deliveries and inventory levels.
  • Engages with residents during meal times to gather feedback regarding service and food quality.
  • Collaborates with and identifies new suppliers as necessary.
  • Coordinates and executes special events as directed.
  • Assists with budget preparation as needed.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays.
  • Fills in as needed during special events or when short-staffed.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures.
  • Participates in departmental training and all required in-service education.
  • Maintains confidentiality of resident and facility information.
  • Responds to fire alarms and assists in the evacuation of residents when necessary.
  • Collaborates with staff from other departments as needed.
  • Provides excellent customer service in all interactions with residents, guests, and staff.
  • Performs additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • 5 years or more experience managing high-volume food service operations, including fine and formal dining.
  • Prior culinary management experience in multi-venue kitchens preferred.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent food service management experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification.
