Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesThe Culinary Supervisor will oversee kitchen staff and manage food preparation within the food service operation, ensuring quality and taste for meals served to patients, cafeteria patrons, and catering events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure departmental standards and goals are met.
- Facilitate staff training and development to enhance competencies.
- Assist the head chef in training and mentoring kitchen staff.
- Support the head chef in conducting timely and accurate employee performance evaluations.
- Ensure timely repairs of kitchen equipment.
- Exhibit strong management and leadership capabilities.
- Provide clear and professional instructions to team members.
- Complete projects within established timelines.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and timely completion of incident reports.
- Maintain effective sanitation and infection control practices, consistently meeting health inspection standards.
- Propose and implement improvements within the department.
- Ensure compliance with hospital and departmental policies, administering discipline as necessary.
- Foster employee morale through constructive feedback and initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Nutritional Service Manager on inventory management.
- Work alongside the head chef to develop high-quality patient menus and recipes.
- Contribute to the creation of quality cafeteria and catering menus.
- Promote strong staff engagement and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in departmental and hospital performance improvement programs.
- Address and resolve issues promptly, providing feedback to the head chef.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen.
- Support hospital and departmental policies.
- Pursue personal development through educational opportunities.
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with the Department Management Team.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
