The Oklahoma City-County Health Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Operations Division, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of our clinical setting, ensuring the provision of high-quality nursing services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide clinic nurses and indirectly supervise subordinate clinic staff.
- Supervise clinic activities and evaluate the work performance of clinic staff.
- Administer work assignments and supervise employee activities by direct observation and review of job products.
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance, attendance, and leave utilization.
- Complete performance evaluations on clinic staff, including any discipline.
- Maintain supervisory documentation and files on all employees supervised, including training, performance counseling, attendance, time, and leave.
- Review all timesheets against leave requests and supervisory documentation to ensure timesheets are properly completed before approving.
- Document all overtime worked by FLSA employees and ensure payment of overtime at time-and-a-half or compensable time off is taken within the operational guidelines.
- Ensure that incident reports are completed and submitted on all incidents in a timely manner.
- May facilitate community presentations and/or attend community meetings at the direction and approval of the Executive Team.
- Responsible for the TB Control Clinic and staff working at the West clinic location.
- Manage clinic resources and complete a variety of reports.
- Administer clinic procedures.
- Ensure adequate clinic supplies are on-hand for general clinic operations.
- Resolve client complaints.
- Perform physical and development examinations and assessments.
- Perform venipuncture and collect specimens.
- Determine appropriate treatments and immunizations.
- Administer treatments and immunizations.
- Counsel caregivers.
- Document charts.
- Compile data and generate reports.
- Actively participate in staff development and in conjunction with the immediate supervisor, establish goals and objectives for clinic staff.
- Provide substantial assistance with planning and continued evaluation of services in a major public health program.
- Maintain standards of professional and public health nursing and assure that services are rendered according to OCCHD policies and state regulations and laws.
- Confers with the immediate supervisor and interprets program needs of the community.
- Participate in planning and providing orientation and in-service education for staff.
- Participate in meetings and conferences as a representative of Public Health Nursing.
- Provide input to the immediate supervisor concerning guidelines and orders, process action teams, TQM issues, Risk Management and Safety issues, HIPAA Records Information issues, etc.
- Document according to established guidelines.
- Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide program-specific and/or population-based services.
- Communicate with employees, clients, and with the public.
- Drive to various locations to perform job duties as needed.
- Complete required training in support of duties and responsibilities of this position.
- May serve as a preceptor for an intern.
- At the direction of OCCHD Chief Executive Officer and Chief Health Officer or designee, the incumbent will be assigned a variety of specific job duties and responsibilities as a member of the OCCHD Emergency Preparedness and Response Program Team (i.e., Bioterrorism Response Program). Also, as a member of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Program Team, the employee is required to complete all necessary emergency responder training and may be designated as a member of the first-responder team.
- In accordance with our designation of a PHAB Accredited health department and explicit commitment to a culture of continuous quality improvement, employees will receive Quality Improvement (QI) training deemed necessary by their supervisor.
Requirements:
- Valid Oklahoma Registered Nurse License required.
- BSN.
- Five years professional nursing experience required.
- One year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid Oklahoma driver license required.
- Certified in CPR.
