Job Summary

The Library Operations Guest Services Desk at Florida International University is seeking a student to join their team of professionals. This position will assist in staffing the Green Library's service desk in the second floor main entrance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create guest passes using the online operating system for visitors and FIU affiliates as needed.
  • Assist guests with general questions, provide information and direction.
  • Remain alert to activity at turnstiles.
  • Monitor for any violations of turnstiles rules.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of PC operations and software.
  • Possess a high sense of responsibility and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain pleasant working relationships and work well in a team environment.
Eligibility
  • Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
  • Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
  • Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.
Work Schedule

Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of the department.

Compensation

$13.00/Hour
