POSITION SUMMARY:

The Penn State Health Medical Group - Contingency Pool is in search of a dedicated Medical Office Associate (MOA) who excels in customer service to support various medical offices across the South-Central PA region. The MOA will be tasked with providing assistance in different Academic Practice Division (APD) Medical Group locations, adapting to diverse work environments that may include General Primary Care and various specialty practices.

The responsibilities of the Medical Office Associate include, but are not limited to:
  • Welcoming patients and managing check-in/check-out processes.
  • Scheduling follow-up appointments and verifying insurance details.
  • Completing referrals and collecting co-payments.
  • Performing end-of-day reconciliation while representing the core staff.
  • Executing administrative tasks as directed by the host office.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently. Each assignment will require the Medical Office Associate to meet the expectations of both the Contingency Pool and the specific office they are assigned to. Punctuality is essential, and completion of an 8-week introductory training course is mandatory.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least six (6) months of experience in a customer service role preferred.
