Job Summary:

The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial activities related to assigned projects and key clients. This role requires a strong background in accounting and project management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the billing process for complex projects and key clients, including the preparation of invoices and required supplemental reports, tracking of payments, and resolution of any billing discrepancies.
  • Conduct in-depth monthly financial analysis and on-going revenue recognition.
  • Partner closely with project managers to support reporting requirements and ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the configuration of new system procedures and report setup for both internal and external clients.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve current financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and implement training programs for the project accounting team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of project accountants, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in project accounting in Architecture & Engineering Consulting industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing project financials and compliance.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and Word required.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with accounting software, preferably Deltek Vantagepoint.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
