Strategic Leadership
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement long-term strategic plans for efficient and cost-effective information processing and communication technologies.
- Oversee operational and strategic planning for the IT department, including assessing business requirements, project planning, and resource allocation.
- Guide organizational leaders in making informed investment decisions that balance immediate operational needs with long-term strategic objectives.
- Provide technology guidance, roadmaps, principles, standards, and best practices to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Re-engineer infrastructure support as necessary to align with business processes and strategic vision.
- Define and communicate project milestones, service level agreements, and resource allocation to stakeholders.
- Develop and review budgets for IT divisions, ensuring compliance with organizational goals and objectives.
- Assess IT system performance to determine operational costs, productivity levels, and upgrade needs.
- Benchmark, analyze, and report on IT infrastructure and systems, making recommendations for improvements.
- Establish bid requirements for hardware and software upgrades, review submissions for compliance, and make award decisions.
- Authorize and oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and support of all IT hardware and software.
- Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT initiatives.
- Direct research on potential technology solutions to support new initiatives and procurement efforts.
- Oversee end-user services, including help desk and technical support.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, and service provision.
- Manage vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
- Oversee IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
- Maintain regular communication with senior leaders, department heads, and end users regarding IT activities.
- Minimum of 13 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or 11 years with a master's degree, or 9 years with a PhD in fields such as computer science, information systems, or business administration with a technology focus.
- Proven experience in managing IT operations and strategic planning.
- Strong understanding of current network and client operating systems, hardware, protocols, and standards.
- Experience in systems design and development from requirements analysis to daily management.
- Demonstrated ability to apply IT solutions to business challenges.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to IT.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
