We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Oral Surgery Support Specialist to contribute to our mission of serving the community's oral surgery needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist surgeons during procedures by performing essential tasks such as tissue retraction and managing intravenous lines.
  • Ensure thorough documentation and compliance with preoperative and postoperative protocols.
  • Verify patient identities and surgical sites to maintain safety and accuracy.
  • Engage in discussions with the surgical team regarding the nature of procedures, including consent and exposure methods.
  • Maintain strict aseptic techniques throughout all surgical processes.
  • Utilize surgical retractors, sponges, and suctioning equipment to keep the operative field clear.
  • Assess the availability of necessary instruments and supplies for surgical procedures.
  • Handle and inspect both sterile and non-sterile surgical tools and materials.
  • Operate sterilization equipment effectively.
  • Monitor patient status during operations to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Perform dental radiographs and imaging as required.
  • Document patient clinical narratives accurately.
  • Undertake additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • BLS certification is necessary or must be obtained within one month of employment.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience is preferred.
  • DAANCE certification is advantageous.
  • Licensure as a dental assistant is preferred.
  • Radiology certification is a plus.
