The Paralegal Specialist is a critical role in the U.S. Army, providing legal and administrative support in various areas of law, including criminal, international, civil, contract, and fiscal law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide paralegal support to unit commanders and the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate
  • Prepare and review legal documents for courts-martial, Article 15 actions, and other military justice matters
  • Assist with line of duty determinations, investigations, separation board proceedings, and other administrative law matters
  • Support family law matters, including power of attorney, wills, and separation decrees
Requirements
  • Age: 17 to 34 years old
  • Education: Current Senior in High School (HS), HS Diploma, GED, or higher
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident
  • Background and medical screening
Training and Development

As a Paralegal Specialist, you will receive 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 10 weeks of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. You will learn essential skills, including:

  • Legal terminology and research techniques
  • Preparation of legal documents
  • Army judicial process
  • Interviewing witnesses
