Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our team at BESCO. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining accurate records of all compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Licensing Management
    • Oversee and manage the company's licensing processes, ensuring all licenses are up to date and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Coordinate with other members of the team to obtain necessary documentation for license renewals and applications.
  • Contract Review
    • Assist the legal department in reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with legal standards and company policies.
    • Identify and highlight potential risks or issues in contract language and propose amendments as needed.
    • Maintain an organized database of all company contracts, ensuring easy access and retrieval.
  • Business Filings
    • Prepare and submit business filings, including annual reports, registrations, and other required documentation, to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.
    • Monitor deadlines for filings and coordinate with relevant departments to gather necessary information.
  • Compliance Monitoring
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure ongoing compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of internal compliance policies and procedures.
  • Research and Analysis
    • Conduct research on regulatory changes and emerging legal trends that may impact the company's operations.
    • Provide analysis and summaries of new regulations or legal requirements to the legal team.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all compliance activities, licenses, contracts, and insurance claims.
    • Ensure that all documentation is stored securely and is easily accessible for audits and internal reviews.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a compliance, legal, or administrative role, preferably within the construction or related industries.
    • Experience with licensing, contract management, or insurance claims is highly desirable.
  • Skills
    • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, particularly within the construction industry.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
Working Conditions
  • This position is primarily office-based with occasional travel for regulatory meetings or industry conferences.
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
