Overview:

The role focuses on advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization. The specialist will work closely with leadership to develop and execute DEI strategies, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the DEI team and organizational leaders to shape and implement the diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy.

2. Foster a culture that values diversity and promotes engagement among all employees.

3. Partner with the DEI Training and Development Manager to create educational programs that enhance understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

4. Oversee the tracking and reporting of DEI initiatives across various organizational sectors, including community engagement and supplier diversity. Provide insights on the effectiveness of these initiatives.

· Serve as the primary contact for DEI assessments and data inquiries.

· Act as the liaison for external survey requests related to DEI.

· Collaborate with the DEI Trainer to analyze and consult on data with internal stakeholders.

· Work with the DEI Director to develop a comprehensive Supplier Diversity Program.

· Research and promote best practices for engaging minority-owned and small businesses in procurement processes.

5. Enhance employee engagement through DEI-focused committees and initiatives, proposing innovative programs to support these efforts.

· Conduct research on DEI trends to align with organizational strategies and needs.

· Manage the annual DEI Calendar and ensure successful program execution.

6. Establish and oversee Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to ensure alignment with organizational goals and DEI strategies.

7. Act as a Cultural Competency Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the organization in understanding the diverse needs of patients, families, and staff.

8. Liaise with external diversity consultants as directed by leadership.

9. Assist in managing DEI-related vendors and contracts, ensuring effective partnerships.

10. May serve as a liaison to various hospital departments regarding DEI initiatives.

11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  1. Experience engaging with various organizational levels, including executives and clinical leaders.
  2. Proficient in MS Office Suite or similar software.
  3. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

2. Certification as a Certified Diversity Professional (CDP) is desirable.

3. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required.
