KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts regular patrols and inspections of facilities and surrounding areas. Responds promptly to service requests and takes necessary actions.
  • Verifies authorized resident lists against individuals entering and exiting secured access points.
  • Communicates with residents via phone or intercom to confirm visitor legitimacy; maintains a log of all visitors including date, time, and destination, and records departures.
  • Monitors safety systems such as fire alarms, elevators, and security apparatus; responds to emergencies triggered by these systems.
  • Alerts the Property Management Office regarding floods, fires, and other hazardous situations that may jeopardize the safety of residents, guests, staff, and property; contacts the Authority's Command Center during off-hours.
  • Informs the Metropolitan Police Department and the Fire and Emergency Medical Services of any life-threatening situations.
  • Executes necessary arrests in accordance with local laws; coordinates with relevant law enforcement agencies for transportation and support.
  • Performs inspections of packages and vehicles, as well as limited searches of individuals suspected of unlawful activities.
  • Manages traffic flow (both vehicular and pedestrian); oversees parking access; issues and/or requests traffic violation notices.
  • Implements truancy regulations.
  • Receives, distributes, and tracks all keys to Authority properties, offices, and secured areas.
  • Keeps a comprehensive 24-hour log of all criminal or unusual occurrences, incidents, or matters requiring attention.
  • Before concluding a shift, ensures that Authority property is secure; any discrepancies will be documented in the duty log and communicated to the succeeding officer.
  • Undertakes additional related tasks as assigned.
