Overview:

Under the supervision of the Security Manager, the Security Enforcement Officer, certified by the Security Officer Management Branch, is responsible for ensuring a secure and welcoming atmosphere for all patrons, guests, and staff at the venue. The Security Enforcement Officer carries out protective and enforcement duties in response to inappropriate behavior, disturbances, criminal activities, and threats to safety and property. In every circumstance, the Officers execute their responsibilities with professionalism, courtesy, and restraint, adhering to legal protocols as outlined in the District of Columbia Code, Sections 4-114 and 4-115, along with company regulations.

This position is full-time and year-round, classified as an "essential employee." Therefore, the Security Enforcement Officer may be required to extend their working hours or report in from off-duty to ensure adequate staffing levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides coverage during shift changes, vacations, sick leave, and other absences as necessary.
  • Performs all duties with respect, professionalism, and dignity, ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Conducts patrols as per Post Instructions and Supervisor Updates, ensuring thoroughness and competence in line with company standards.
  • Maintains order on the premises, employing respect and positive customer service when interacting with guests, visitors, employees, and unknown individuals.
  • Ensures that trespassers and unwanted individuals are kept off the property, following the legal methods specified in the policies and procedures. Takes appropriate action to address misconduct and legal violations in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Prepared to respond swiftly and appropriately to emergencies and incidents as they arise.
  • Submits detailed and well-structured reports documenting complaints, observations, actions taken, and investigative results.
  • Informs the Supervisor and On-Duty Manager of any activities that may be of interest or concern regarding the venue.
  • May provide transportation for staff to and from the venue on event days.
  • Completes all assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma; an Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred.
  • Two years of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Appreciates the importance of data integrity and maintains accurate and timely records.
  • Effective communicator, both orally and in writing, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet navigation.
  • Competent keyboard skills for producing accurate and well-presented documents.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Strong team player with the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Attention to detail, with excellent time management and organizational skills.

Physical/Environmental Requirements:
  • This role requires functioning in a high-activity, densely populated outdoor sports venue. May involve working at heights and exposure to varying weather conditions. Regularly requires standing for extended periods, walking long distances, and climbing stairs. The employee must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and lift/move up to 45 pounds.
Compensation:

The expected wage for this position is $21.00 per hour. Actual compensation is determined by various factors, including qualifications, skills, experience, education, certifications, and organizational requirements. Starting salaries for new hires may not be at the top of the salary range.
