GENERAL OVERVIEW: The Development Associate I at ECAD is a committed and socially aware professional, enthusiastic about supporting the development team in crafting and executing strategies aimed at ensuring the sustainability and growth of the organization. The Development Associate I serves as the operational and logistical backbone of the Development Department, aiding in the maintenance of the donor database (Salesforce), executing donor stewardship initiatives, and more.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Including but not limited to;

● Enhance and support fundraising initiatives

● Coordinate and implement high-volume donor outreach campaigns via telephone

● Oversee and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the donor database, including contact details, relationships, correspondence, and interactions

● Generate reports for donors, mailing lists for appeals, events, and communications

● Conduct wealth screenings and compile prospect lists

● Organize and manage both online and in-person events

● Prepare and manage in-house mailings, coordinating volunteers as necessary

● Develop marketing materials, presentations, and grant proposals as required

● Assist in crafting appeals, including writing letters of appeal, thank-you notes, donation pages, and emails

● Track communications and outstanding pledges

● Build, maintain, and execute donor stewardship campaigns as needed

● Support website maintenance and content creation

● Assist the director with call screening, returning calls, filing, email management, and other assigned tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Preferred bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, fundraising, nonprofit management, or business, along with 2+ years of experience in a nonprofit setting

● Proven experience in database management (Salesforce) with a willingness to learn new systems

● Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a particular emphasis on oral communication due to the high volume of call activity

● Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

● Demonstrated problem-solving skills

● History of completing projects with exceptional accuracy

● Excellent organizational skills, capable of multitasking while being detail-oriented and meeting deadlines

● Typing proficiency of at least 50 words per minute

● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint), with a focus on Excel functions and processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, fundraising, nonprofit management, or business preferred, along with 2+ years of experience in a nonprofit environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to effectively present information to management in a structured format and respond in writing to various situations, preparing reports as required.

Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
