SWCA Environmental Consultants is in search of a full-time Logistics Operations Manager to bolster our Southern Arizona team.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented problem solver with exceptional communication abilities, committed to facilitating a dynamic team environment for seamless operations.

This role necessitates the capacity to work both autonomously and collaboratively with all team members.

The individual in this role will exhibit meticulous attention to detail, prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple responsibilities, and demonstrate strong time management capabilities.

The ideal candidate will communicate clearly and provide essential support to team members while also negotiating assertively with our suppliers.


This position will be based in the Tucson office as a hub employee (approximately 80% in-office) and will involve collaboration with our Southern Arizona Field Staff, Project Managers, Team Leads, and Directors.

This is a regular, full-time, hourly position and comes with comprehensive SWCA benefits.

Key Responsibilities:


The Logistics Operations Manager will be accountable for delivering a range of logistical and administrative support activities for field staff.


Logistics Management:


Oversee field logistics for Southern Arizona personnel, including coordination with project/task managers regarding fieldwork requirements; scheduling personnel for field assignments; arranging vehicles, equipment, and supplies for field staff; and collecting vehicle inspection logs and expense receipts.

Act as the Office Safety Representative and manage health and safety compliance tasks, including scheduling training sessions and monthly reporting.


Oversee assets/inventory, maintenance, organization, and billing of field data and safety equipment, including technology asset management (e.g., field tablets and GPS devices).

Organize safety gear, secure travel arrangements, manage outgoing and incoming forms and data, track expenditures, and reconcile billing.

Procure Certificates of Insurance to fulfill contract requirements as necessary.


Manage the fleet of company-owned and rental vehicles (including drop-off and pick-ups), and coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs as required.

Provide project and proposal support as needed, which may encompass desktop research, data entry, and natural resources fieldwork.

Administrative Duties:


Perform administrative tasks such as ordering office supplies, handling mail/FedEx, running errands, maintaining the break room, document production, and other office-related responsibilities.

Coordinate both onsite and offsite meetings, conferences, and community volunteer initiatives.

Facilitate virtual meetings (via Teams or Zoom) for the Southern Arizona team.

Onboard new employees and provide on-site orientation.

Set up workstations for new hires with necessary equipment. Coordinate shipping and receiving of materials.

Manage office equipment, liaise with vendors, and act as a point of contact with property management.

Collaborate with corporate departments as directed.

Qualifications for Success:
A minimum of a High School diploma (or GED equivalent) is required.


At least two (2) years of experience in environmental consulting, natural resources management, office management, logistics, or administrative support is necessary.


Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint (preferably Version 2010) and other common software applications such as Adobe Acrobat Professional.

Proficiency in Zoom and MS Teams video meeting platforms, or a strong willingness to acquire this skill.

A current and valid driver's license, with the ability to operate various types of vehicles, including trucks and 4x4s.

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working for an environmental consulting, engineering, or construction firm.

Experience with Deltek Vision or other CRM software, SharePoint, and Smartsheet.


Three (3) or more years of experience in environmental consulting, natural resources management, office management, logistics, or administrative support is preferred.

A Bachelor's (B.A. or B.S.) degree in business, accounting, Natural Resource Management, Biology, Environmental Studies, or a related field is desired.

An employee in this Tucson, AZ position can expect an hourly pay rate of $21.50–$27.50/hour.

Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.

Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
