Job Overview

The Building People, LLC is seeking a dedicated Graphic Designer to support our client associated with the U.S. Department of Energy.

Role Responsibilities

The Graphic Designer plays a crucial role in articulating the mission, activities, and objectives of the office to both internal and external audiences. Utilizing various methods and strategies, this position aims to effectively communicate the scientific aspects of the office's research and enhance the visibility of its initiatives among stakeholders, the public, and leadership within the Energy Department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, designing, and producing engaging graphics for diverse marketing materials such as website banners, social media content, email communications, brochures, flyers, advertisements, and presentations.
  • Maintaining consistency and compliance with the client's visual identity across all design projects.
  • Managing multiple projects concurrently while adhering to deadlines and upholding high-quality standards.
  • Contributing to the creation of effective marketing campaigns from concept through to execution.
  • Ensuring timely completion of all design deliverables within set project timelines.
  • Collaborating with the web development team to produce visually appealing and user-friendly web designs that follow responsive design principles.
  • Engaging in brainstorming sessions to provide innovative ideas and creative concepts that support marketing initiatives.
  • Preparing and presenting design briefs, articulating the reasoning behind design decisions and integrating feedback from stakeholders.
  • Coordinating with external vendors and printers to oversee the production of printed materials, ensuring the final products meet quality expectations.
  • Working closely with DOE Public Affairs and EERE leadership to comply with processes and protocols for public dissemination of reports and information, aligned with Agency priorities and EERE Standards.
Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills:

  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience. A Master's Degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
  • Proficient graphic design skills using the Adobe Suite (Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc.).
  • Experience in creating digital marketing materials, including website banners, print collateral, and executing marketing and communications campaigns.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to independently advance projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • High level of creativity and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Aesthetic sensibility and a passion for graphic design.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Knowledge of the energy sector is advantageous.

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: B.S. or B.A. in a relevant field.
