Job Title: Camp Specialty Instructor

At the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, we're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Camp Specialty Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our summer camp staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality programs and activities that promote youth development, education, and fun.

Job Summary:

The Camp Specialty Instructor will work under the direction of the Day Camp Lead to provide guidance, safety, leadership, and education to children participating in our summer camp programs. This role requires a strong background in a specific area of expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging and educational programs that meet the needs of our campers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to parents and campers, ensuring a positive and safe experience for all.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to plan and deliver activities that promote teamwork, leadership, and social skills.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and healthy environment for all campers and staff.
  • Participate in staff training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with children in a structured setting.
  • Background and expertise in a specific area of specialty.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Prior experience working with teens.
  • Current certifications in First Aid/CPR.
