About the Role

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Camp Specialty Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our camp staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality programs and activities that promote the physical, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement engaging and safe programs for children, focusing on specialized topics such as arts and crafts, sports, and STEM education.
  • Lead and manage a team of staff and volunteers to ensure the smooth operation of camp programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with parents and guardians to ensure a positive and supportive environment for children.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed to ensure high-quality experiences for children.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive camp experience.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to parents and guardians, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with children in a structured setting.
  • Background and expertise in a specialty area, such as arts and crafts, sports, or STEM education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and quality programming.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working with teens and young adults.
  • Current certifications in first aid and CPR.
  • Ability to pass a background check and motor vehicle record check.
