The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Camp Specialty Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our camp staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality programs and activities that promote the physical, emotional, and social development of children.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement engaging and safe programs for children, focusing on specialized topics such as arts and crafts, sports, and STEM education.
- Lead and manage a team of staff and volunteers to ensure the smooth operation of camp programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with parents and guardians to ensure a positive and supportive environment for children.
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan and deliver comprehensive programs that meet the needs of children.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment for staff and children, adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.
- Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- At least one year of experience working with children in a structured setting.
- Background and expertise in a specialty area, such as arts and crafts, sports, or STEM education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and hospitality.
- Pass a motor vehicle record check and have a valid driver's license.
- CPR/First Aid certification required; other certifications may be necessary depending on the position.
- Prior experience working with teens and young adults.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Current certifications in First Aid/CPR; must obtain any other certifications required for the position.
