Community Engagement Specialist

Molina Healthcare is looking for a motivated Community Engagement Specialist to join our team. This position is essential in enhancing membership options and ensuring the retention of our current members.
This role focuses on developing and nurturing partnerships with local organizations and healthcare providers to advocate for Molina's offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate membership growth and retention for Molina Healthcare.
- Establish and sustain relationships with community organizations and healthcare professionals.
- Promote Molina's services and serve as an advocate within the community.
- Collaborate with internal departments to synchronize activities and strategies.
- Support team members by participating in activities both virtually and in person as required.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous.
- Prior experience in sales or community outreach is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Possess a growth-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to community advocacy.
- Excellent presentation skills and familiarity with Medicaid/Managed Care are beneficial.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Under minimal supervision, you will be responsible for executing enrollment initiatives and achieving designated membership growth targets through various marketing strategies, primarily aimed at enhancing the plan's overall choice rate.
Work collaboratively with key departments to boost Medicaid assignment percentages for Molina.
Provide guidance to new or less experienced team members through training, development, and mentorship.
May act as the Supervisor or Manager for the team when requested by management.
Accountable for meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual enrollment and growth targets as set by management.
Engage with team members and management to foster relationships with key business leaders, community organizations, and providers, ensuring all efforts focus on expanding Medicaid membership.
Effectively navigate these relationships through the enrollment process.
Coordinate, schedule, and participate in enrollment events, encouraging key partners to engage and assist where possible.
Collaborate with Provider Services to ensure providers in the assigned area are informed about Molina's products and services, establishing straightforward referral processes for providers and community organizations.
Recognized as a subject matter expert by community stakeholders on healthcare delivery and wellness topics.
Deliver presentations, attend meetings, and distribute educational materials to both current and prospective members.
Handle incoming inquiries from potential and current members, providing them with relevant information about Molina Healthcare and directing them to appropriate departments as necessary.
Lead and execute company programs within your designated regions.
Assist in the planning and execution of Molina events and align media components.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent job-related experience.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related field.
Required Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (e.g., marketing, business development, community engagement, healthcare sector).
- Demonstrated networking and negotiation skills.
- Strong public speaking and presentation abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
- Capability to attend public events in various weather conditions.
- Physical ability to sit and stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
Preferred Experience:
- Comprehensive understanding of healthcare markets, particularly Medicaid.
- Prior experience in healthcare marketing, enrollment, or community outreach is a plus.
- Five years of outreach experience serving low-income populations.
- Experience in project management, ideally in a healthcare or outreach context.
- Experience presenting to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with sales or marketing techniques.
- Fluency in a second language is highly desirable.
Required License, Certification, Association:
Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and be able to drive within applicable state or locality using reliable transportation.
Preferred License, Certification, Association:
Active Life & Health Insurance certification.
