Job Overview

Position Summary:

VanKirk Electric stands as a prominent national electrical subcontractor, excelling in various aspects of multi-family construction. We are committed to fostering a team of dedicated professionals who are enthusiastic about learning and advancing within our organization.

The Low Voltage Assistant Project Manager collaborates closely with Low Voltage Project Managers to strategize and implement projects effectively. Key responsibilities encompass supporting project objectives, assisting in the formulation of comprehensive plans for successful project completion, and systematically organizing project documentation.

Key Responsibilities
• Fulfill pre-construction obligations, including layouts, permits, and material takeoffs.
• Oversee the initial project setup and launch.
• Define project scope and objectives through regular team and individual milestone meetings.
• Spearhead project planning and execution.
• Monitor daily progress and schedules, providing regular production updates.
• Generate material orders to align with schedules while adhering to budget constraints.
• Report on labor productivity and forecasts, ensuring compliance with labor budgets.
• Manage the financial performance of projects.
• Facilitate and/or lead client meetings and presentations.
• Communicate effectively with client representatives, contractors, and suppliers, leading field efforts to document existing conditions through notes and photographs.
• Verify quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for construction.
• Participate in or lead site visits, inspections, and documentation during the construction phase.
• Assign tasks, manage staff, and develop project schedules.
• Direct assigned projects to ensure successful outcomes.
• Implement quality assurance protocols.
• Monitor and report on project progress through weekly and monthly updates, including project status and labor productivity.
• Take corrective measures as necessary.
Qualifications
• Proven experience in managing commercial and/or industrial projects.
• Familiarity with design layout plans for electrical installations.
• Knowledge of various wire sizes, conduit types, and relevant codes.
• Prior experience in project management is essential.
• Background in Construction Management is advantageous.
• Experience in estimating is a plus.
• Proficient in site coordination, material scheduling, budgeting, estimating, and safety protocols.
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
Skills
• Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF software.
• Ability to meet deadlines and inspire others.

• Strong teamwork and independent work skills.
