Position Overview

Miller Electric is looking for a Financial Operations Manager to enhance our team of accounting experts. In this role, your duties will encompass much more than overseeing financial records. You will be a driving force for operational enhancements, collaborating closely with the Division Controller to optimize processes, contribute to Annual Planning, and analyze critical business metrics that guide our strategic decisions.

Your Responsibilities and Impact:
Financial Management, Analysis, and Reporting:
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
- Guarantee the precise and timely recording, analysis, and reporting of financial transactions in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Prepare comprehensive management reports and communicate results effectively.
- Monitor and evaluate financial performance, identify trends, and provide valuable insights to management for informed decision-making.
- Utilize available tools and technologies to analyze data supporting process enhancements and operational decisions.
- Assist team members in understanding the financial implications of their decisions, identify key business drivers, and provide training to boost overall financial literacy.
- Guide and develop the accounting team through mentorship, training, and constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with the Division Controller in planning, assigning, and directing departmental work.
- Implement 80/20 thinking to minimize complexity and streamline processes.
- Engage in cross-departmental projects within and beyond the Division.
- Curiosity: Maintain a curious mindset and a strong desire for continuous learning, especially regarding business processes and their financial implications.
- Effective Prioritization: Align priorities with business objectives while demonstrating high motivation and personal accountability.

- Flexibility: Be open to occasional travel as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field, with a minimum of five years of comprehensive accounting experience.
- Experience with ERP and Financial Reporting software is required; proficiency in Microsoft D365 is advantageous.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel.
