The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation is dedicated to assisting individuals with disabilities in achieving their career aspirations.

Role Responsibilities:
Our team is looking for dedicated professionals to deliver work readiness training and job coaching services to individuals with disabilities. In this capacity, you will:
  • Collaborate closely with DVR counselors to connect with local employers and cultivate job opportunities.
  • Support clients in their job search efforts, including resume creation, job search techniques, and interview preparation.
  • Assist clients in enhancing their communication and self-advocacy skills.
  • Guide clients in understanding their job responsibilities and expectations.
  • Work with employers to establish efficient workplace systems that accommodate the needs of VR clients.
  • Implement natural supports within the work environment.
  • Identify and address any additional challenges that may hinder clients from sustaining employment.

This position entails regular communication and precise monthly reporting of hours worked. Services may be provided on an individual basis or in group settings, catering to participants of various ages.

Position Details:
This is a non-benefited role with part-time to full-time hours, contingent upon the number of clients and their specific needs. The starting wage is $25 per hour.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background and reference check.
  • Comfortable reaching out to and collaborating with employers.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of disabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn job development and job carving techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the local community, including businesses and resources.
  • Experience working with youth, particularly those with behavioral disabilities.
