Job Title: Patient Registration Specialist at Westchester Medical Center

As a Patient Registration Specialist at Westchester Medical Center, your primary responsibility will be to manage the registration process for both Emergency Room and outpatient services with precision and effectiveness. This position also entails handling financial transactions and utilizing communication systems. Be prepared for shifts that may include weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather and input insurance and financial information from patients, ensuring accuracy and prompt resolution of any issues.
  • Confirm insurance eligibility and address any discrepancies with patients in a timely manner.
  • Provide essential information and required brochures to patients.
  • Assist with bedside registration in the Emergency Department and resolve any system-related issues.
  • Ensure proper placement of ID bands on patients while adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Follow emergency procedures and contribute to the smooth flow of patient care.
  • Manage parking tokens for the Emergency Department and operate communication systems efficiently.
  • Handle internal and external calls with professionalism, assisting callers as necessary.
  • Maintain duty rosters, process payments, and manage petty cash disbursements.
  • Keep accurate records of patient valuables and manage documentation for deceased patients.
  • Address any registration errors and seek assistance in unfamiliar situations.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in insurance verification is preferred.
Education:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Additional Requirements:
  • Compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Dedication to providing quality patient care and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask effectively.
