Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team at WMCHealth. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic patient care and support, including assisting with daily living activities, such as hygiene, toileting, and feeding.
  • Assist registered nurses in providing individualized patient care plans, as directed, and communicate effectively with patients and families.
  • Report changes in patient condition and other relevant information to registered nurses in a timely manner.
  • Interact with other healthcare team members to establish priorities and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Assist with transporting patients, lifting, moving, and ambulating patients, and accompanying patients on discharge as requested.
  • Collect specimens, label accurately, and deliver to the lab as requested.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, including restocking utility rooms, kitchen, file cabinets, nurse's station, and other common areas.
Requirements
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience in a similar setting or behavioral health setting, or a nursing student having completed one clinical rotation.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • BLS certified.
  • Ability to communicate and interact appropriately with individuals at all levels, including patients, family members, and staff.
