We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team at WMCHealth. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic patient care and support, including assisting with daily living activities, such as hygiene, toileting, and feeding.
- Assist registered nurses in providing individualized patient care plans, as directed, and communicate effectively with patients and families.
- Report changes in patient condition and other relevant information to registered nurses in a timely manner.
- Interact with other healthcare team members to establish priorities and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Assist with transporting patients, lifting, moving, and ambulating patients, and accompanying patients on discharge as requested.
- Collect specimens, label accurately, and deliver to the lab as requested.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, including restocking utility rooms, kitchen, file cabinets, nurse's station, and other common areas.
- Minimum of one year of recent experience in a similar setting or behavioral health setting, or a nursing student having completed one clinical rotation.
- High school diploma or GED.
- BLS certified.
- Ability to communicate and interact appropriately with individuals at all levels, including patients, family members, and staff.
