Typical Physical Demands: This position requires a full range of motion, including the ability to move and lift patients, as well as manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. The role necessitates prolonged periods of sitting or standing and may involve exerting up to 100 pounds of force, such as assisting patients in transitioning from examination tables or maneuvering wheelchairs. Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges are essential. Occasional lifting and transporting of office supplies may be required.
Typical Working Conditions: The role may involve frequent exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, and other conditions typical of a medical office environment. Proximity to other staff members is common, and the use of a computer keyboard is necessary throughout the workday. The position may also require the use of sterilization equipment and working under potentially stressful conditions or irregular hours.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position may provide guidance to clerical staff, medical assistants, and other non-licensed personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be graduates of an accredited practical nursing program and possess a valid New York State (NYS) license with current registration in good standing. A history of stable employment and favorable references is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of one year of experience as a licensed practical nurse or two years as a medical assistant in a relevant field is preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification is also desirable.
