Key Responsibilities:

  • Articulate and advocate for accounting, budgeting, and financial protocols to on-site personnel, management, vendors, and clients.
  • Work closely with the Accounting team for month-end closing activities.
  • Examine and report on inventory levels, associated costs, and cost of goods sold transactions.
  • Deliver insights on plant performance and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assess and refresh product costing and pricing data.
  • Address discrepancies in inventory and cost of goods sold through collaboration with the Inventory Control audit and cycle count team.
  • Input specific product-related data into the ERP system.
  • Compile and present operational metrics to management, including sales, inventory, production, capacity, and yield.
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee the implementation of accounting practices at the plant.
  • Assist corporate Finance and Accounting teams with special projects and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Review reports related to inventory, production, maintenance, and fixed assets for accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze plant expenses and overhead calculations.
  • Support the preparation of state and local tax documentation for regulatory compliance.
  • Set goals and objectives while monitoring the professional growth of direct reports.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Consistent and reliable attendance is a fundamental aspect of this role.

Supervisory Duties:

Oversee the Labor Specialist and other assigned positions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from an accredited institution with a minimum of six years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a food manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • CMA certification is advantageous.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate strong relationships with team members, peers, and company leadership.
  • Proficient understanding of finance, cost accounting, budgeting, inventory valuation, and cost control principles, including GAAP.
  • Familiarity with financial and accounting software applications; Sage X3 experience is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to data integrity.
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and generate comprehensive financial reports, analyses, and forecasts.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
