Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our Orthopaedic team at the University of New Mexico. As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our orthopaedic surgeons and staff, and contribute to the development of our clinical programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent acute and/or routine medical care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with orthopaedic surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Supervise support staff in an out-of-hours or remote clinical setting, as needed.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, follow-up, and evaluate patient outcomes within the scope of practice protocols.
  • Perform patient history and physical exams, document findings, and provide education to patients and families.
  • Occasionally assist in surgery and perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Requirements
  • Eligible for New Mexico certification as a Physician's Assistant or Certified Nurse Practitioner.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution, with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in clinical patient care, preferably in orthopaedics or a related field.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with patients and families.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and learn new skills.
