Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop control systems for complex automation, including robotics and vision systems, utilizing PLC, HMI, and other modular codes.
  • Create operational and maintenance manuals in alignment with the designs and equipment specifications.
  • Engage in the installation, startup, and testing of machinery at client locations.
  • Oversee electrical and controls installation and supervision at client sites as required.
  • Conduct machine testing, experiments, and debugging activities to ensure designs meet project specifications reliably.
  • Perform factory acceptance testing with documented outcomes.
  • Manage and document projects and tasks within established timelines and budgets with moderate oversight.
  • Maintain technical records, test results, and documentation to support design and performance history.
  • Estimate the hours needed to complete tasks effectively.
  • Execute engineering responsibilities within budgetary and scheduling constraints.
  • Participate in design review processes and provide technical insights to colleagues.
  • Embrace AST's Continuous Improvement Process across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Familiarity with industrial machinery specifications and standards.
  • Expertise in machine control system design and testing environments with strong electrical knowledge.
  • Proficiency in software applications such as Allen-Bradley PLC Platform, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and disciplined, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Character that aligns with AST's culture of integrity in all business activities.
  • Expected travel of 25% or as business needs dictate.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully pass a drug test.

This is a full-time position.
