Position Overview:

This role, reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Director, is integral to the Manufacturing Leadership Team. The Lead Process Improvement Engineer will focus on enhancing manufacturing efficiency and overseeing capital projects across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Optimization: Analyze waste, speed, and delays in product design and manufacturing processes, aiming to exceed established benchmarks by:
    • Formulating and executing strategies to minimize yield loss.
    • Creating and refining process maps for each machine to identify and eliminate bottlenecks.
    • Recognizing delays and devising actionable plans to mitigate them.
    • Fostering collaboration among departments to ensure timely resolution of issues.
    • Engaging with operators on the production floor to promote continuous improvement.
    • Networking with engineers across all plants to share best practices.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that produced materials meet or exceed quality standards by:
    • Monitoring laboratory results.
    • Participating in quality audits and meetings.
  • Safety Leadership: Actively contribute to the plant safety program by:
    • Identifying and mitigating hazards related to equipment.
    • Monitoring safety conditions and behaviors.
    • Participating in safety audits.
  • Capital Project Management: Develop and oversee capital projects by:
    • Identifying opportunities for improvement.
    • Organizing teams for research initiatives.
    • Drafting Capital Expenditure Requests (CER).
    • Coordinating and implementing projects.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven ability to solve problems with sound judgment and resilience under pressure.
  • Ability to operate independently and make decisions that yield optimal outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fostering effective collaboration.
  • Intermediate proficiency in standard office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Capacity to plan strategically over a 30-day horizon and prepare actionable plans.
  • Ability to balance quality, productivity, and cost effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated capability as a team player.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (mechanical, chemical, industrial, or related field) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a continuous process manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting in automated factory systems.
