About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team at Henrico Doctors' Hospital. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and document patient admission and shift behavioral and physical clinical data and observations.
  • Provide vital signs, BP's, and accuchecks, and report abnormalities to the Registered Nurse.
  • Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living and provide or assist with treatments or procedures within documented level of competency.
  • Provide behavioral health care interventions utilizing the least restrictive interventions.
  • Ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff, and complete routine and special safety checks.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, with either enrollment in a Bachelor's level program or six months of previous psychiatric experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field (preferred).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
  • Previous experience in an acute care adult, geriatric, or child/adolescent behavioral health setting (required).
