We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at Hallmark Youthcare Richmond Inc. Our Residential Treatment Center provides a warm and supportive environment for adolescents with emotional and behavioral issues triggered by trauma.

About the Role

As a Mental Health Technician, you will work closely with a team to supervise a group of 7 to 10 adolescents, ensuring their safety and well-being. You will engage with residents as a mentor, education assistant, activity, and group leader, actively participating in scheduled program activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to residents, ensuring their living environment is secure and safe.
  • Organize group activities, including sports and recreation, to promote social development and teamwork.
  • Meet with young people to identify and discuss their problems, providing guidance and support.
  • Capable of problem-solving with residents, de-escalating situations of conflict, and intervening as trained in crisis situations.
  • Write reports and progress/treatment notes of observations and engagements with residents.
  • Mentor and be a role-model for social development, promoting positive relationships and behaviors.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children is preferred but not required.
  • Willing to undergo a background check and drug screening in accordance with local laws and regulations.
  • Mature individuals who demonstrate authority with caring and respect for the dignity of young people.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
